ISCAR 36Advancements in multi-axis machine tools and CAD/CAM systems enable precise milling of complex shapes with minimal stock, using segment or barrelshaped endmills. ISCAR's program includes solid carbide designs, exchangeable MULTI-MASTERheads, and one-insert approaches. For hightemperature superalloys (HTSA), ISCAR's latest ceramic tools, including solid endmills and indexable cutters with double-sided round inserts, allow cutting speeds up to 1000 m/min (3300 sfm). These tools utilize ceramic grades like black ceramic, whiskerreinforced ceramic, and SiAlON. These examples highlight advancements in milling tools, driven by new demands and innovative designs.High feed milling (HFM) is widely used for efficient rough machining of complex and flat surfaces. ISCAR's HFM range has expanded with new additions. The LOGIQ-4-FEED family now includes tools with larger, bone-shaped inserts, ideal for high feed milling of large cavities in the Die and Mold industry. Another addition, NEO-FEED, features double-sided square inserts with 8 cutting edges for improved cost-effectiveness.
